Southwestern College is seeking a Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Health Sciences (or Biology) to teach courses and lead the Health Sciences program.
Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses that contribute to the basic requirements of natural science majors, with particular emphasis on the health sciences degree. These courses would include anatomy and physiology 1 and introductory and synthetic seminars on health sciences. Additional education may include higher level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise that support and complement current departmental offerings. This position will also contribute to introductory biology courses for majors and courses in the general education program. Other responsibilities of the department include the academic advising of students majoring in health sciences and / or biology to prepare for careers in health care.
Qualifications: Terminal diploma (preferably PhD) in health sciences, biology, organism biology or in a closely related field; proven effectiveness and teaching excellence; undergraduate or secondary teaching experience is recommended.
