At the June 21 meeting of Dawsonville City Council, council members recognized the city’s employee of the month, as well as two city employees who recently received promotions.
The city’s May 2021 Employee of the Month was the operator of the Westin Lee utility processing plant. According to City Manager Bob Bolz, Lee was chosen for recognition for his hard work in the utility service.
“Westin works in our utilities department and like the rest of our techs does a fantastic job,” Bolz said. “We are happy to have him on our team.
Also during the meeting, board members recognized two members of the utility department for their recent promotions. Jacob Barr has been promoted from team leader of utilities to director of operations of utilities, a promotion which Bolz says has benefited the entire department.
“Our utility manager Gary Barr retired in September and since then our guys have worked with one less person,” Bolz said.
As a result of Barr’s promotion, municipal employee Blake Croft was also promoted from Processing Plant Operator to the vacant Barr’s Utilities Team Leader position.
The three city employees were recognized by the members of the city council as part of the council working session on June 21.
